Capstans
We deliver hydraulic and electrical capstans with 1 - 10 tonnes capacity. Hydraulic capstans are equipped with fail-safe brake, electrical capstans with variable frequency drive. Standard capstans are delivered with foot pedal and emergency stop. Customized pedestal for deck mounting is also available.
The simple and robust design makes this one of the most versatile tools onboard a service vessel.
All our standard electrical capstans are delivered with frequency inverter and fail-safe brake for improved safety in case of overload. Standard capstans have a maximum line speed 20m/min to reduce the operational risk for crew.
Special marine operations may require high capacities, both in terms of pulling force and line speed. We have designed a high torque capstan with line speed up to 40m/min. This is a powerful tool which requires special attention and user knowledge.
